One woman had to come to terms with this after she accidentally broke a trinket bowl at the house of her partner's friends, after it had been on the edge of a counter she was walking past to go to the restroom.
When she apologized, the couple initially declined to let her pay, but then backtracked after a few days and requested she replace it with a $1500 price tag attached.
She told them that she didn't have the money to replace the item, and they asked her to open a new credit card to cover the cost. She wanted to know if her response had been unreasonable.
